Hey, just remembered about this thing...I have been quite busy for the last eh...5 months haha!

I'll just do a quick update about what happened during my absence from this: Christmas was great seeing people back from uni and being able to relax a little. Unfortunately it was shortlived as I was brought back to the real world with exams in January - managed to pass them all satisfactorily - Didn't get to come up for a breath afterwards though due to the token gesture to the English in Land Law taking up my week off. February saw me at the Bloomfield formal with the lovely Deborah and things were great, had a lovely Easter seeing people again(minus a few scratches I got on the car) came back to uni (well not exactly I havn't really been in much) and that's it for the last 5 months...

Now I'm just struggling to keep afloat whilst 3 pieces of coursework struggle to pull me down to the depths of despair...first piece to be in on 11th second and third pieces on 14th May...delightful.
Also I have exams on 19th and 26th, so it's a busy and stressful time of year...

I also need to get something sorted for the summer sort of internshipish. Argh I'm making myself stressed just thinking about it all.

Well, gotta go here and get a move on with the first piece of coursework.

>.<

woo! decided to make another post. that is of course what blogs are for, unfortunately i am not very good at it.

I just thought I would share my disgust for the case of the week last week in Criminal Law.
Brown v UK [1993]

...basically involves a bunch of sadomasochistic homosexuals arguing that because the had the consent of their 'victims' while they did nasty things with fish hooks, nipple clamps, candles and dripping wax and other sharp objects, they shouldn't be held liable for any Actual Bodily Harm caused to the 'victims'...

Thankfully the House of Lords saw sense and told them to wise up.
I did not find it beneficial reading this case before going to bed.

Went to see The Divine Comedy last Saturday at the Mandela Hall in the union. It was a good gig...didn't know half the songs but i was able to 'bop' along and have a good time all the same. Also found it amusing watching some really random people be random.
The support act, Duke Special was amazing as always...buy his album if you can; Songs from the Deep Forest.

Right now I'm rather tired after a long day at uni and drinking way too much tea and coffee lol.

Coursework is on the go now, Criminal and Human rights....oh they joy...much potential for some moany blogs.

Anyways Human rights lecture at 10am tomorrow so I'm away off to bed

Good night!

hmmm"argh" fits the bill right now. I could spend quite a lot of time right now moaning about my studies, but it would probably bore you. Suffice to say I have quite a lot on my plate at the minute, not only in quantity but also complexity and the mind does melt.

I did have a nice wee lunch today up in a friend's house whom I hadn't seen for a while which was good, catching up and the like. Made me think about a lot of stuff as well about were I am in life and God's plan for my life and just my attitude to all the stuff I do. Probably means I should moan a little less about my course haha.

I decided to take out some of my anti-law aggression and attended Tai-jitsu tonight at the PEC which was good craic, if not quite painful. I have extensive bruising around my right knee, right bicep and left shoulder. On the plus side i did learn how to do flying roll things which are quite fun (basically involves taking a run-up, diving through the air, landing on your hands placed slightly to the right, tucking your knees in, tumbling over the left shoulder and popping back up to fighting stance. looks pretty amazing but hurts when you don't do it right)...soon will be a law ninja hehe.

Listening to some Sigur Rós now as I try to get through this criminal law stuff, have to say Hoppipolla always manages to make me happier.
Living with parents ain't easy, they don't seem to appreciate sigur rós after midnight....

good night

I think I am slowly losing my memory, I forgot my hat from a tutorial yesterday, forgot to charge my phone last night and then forgot my keys today. It isn't good.

I maybe should buy one of those books that middle aged men get telling you how to improve your memory.

I went to the QUBCU (for once) last night, was good craic met some cool people and had coffee after. I think I was talking about law too much though, I managed to recall the story of a case about a dude that picked up a "lady of the night" and brought her to a certain location whereupon he was unable to satisfy her, (this is were i got confused because surely if he was paying...never mind) but anyway, his inability to do the act made the lady of questionable morals laugh at him. At this the dude was rather enraged and promptly tried to beat her to death and chucked her into the back of a van and dumped her in a river where she drowned. When being tried for murder he tried to defend himself by arguing that because he intended to murder her when he was beating her, and she didnt die then but later on in the river when he no longer was intending to murder her; he could not possibly be guilty of murder. Thankfully the judge just slapped him and sent him to jail.

I hardly ever remember cases.

Was quite a random CU meeting though there was no real speaker or anything because it was all gearing up for an action week thing around the uni "campus".

An interesting comment today regarding the rather tiresome debate about the wearing of veils by teachers in schools (started rather stupidly by an assistant teacher who actually removes the veil when she's teaching and not in the presence of male adults...) but anyway, "...sure veils will be out of fashion soon." was the comment.
The silly woman also decided she was going to pursue the issue to the European Court of Human Rights after being advised not to. Anyways the margin of appreciation and all that proportionality stuff will probably close the issue and it will be a waste of her time.

Enough of that.

I had a meatball marinara (think that's how you spell it) today, messiest thing ever to eat. I've been unable to eat properly recently anyway without looking like I have the mental capacity of a 2 year old...

quite tired now after an early start for a 2 hour human rights lecture at 10am, with a lecturer that sounds like the dinosaur out of toy story.

have to go here and get ready to teach swimming.

ok the name...

sneezing panda:

...enough said about that

Blawg: I study law, thought that was important enough to warrant it getting some mention in the title...mostly because I may moan a lot about it :P
